Quotes & Thoughts
Those who have died can never be brought back to their original form, no matter what is done. This is the Truth. The taboo of the complete theory of Human Transmutation. Why the hell did I ever do it?
The Fuhrer used the State Alchemists in the Ishbal Civil War to destroy everyone. A State Alchemist is supposed to be an Alchemist of the People. Those that annihilated the battleground were not for the people...
Humans cannot handle the Philosophers Stone. Humans are controlled by their sins, and the Philosophers Stone is greater than any weapon created. If humans get ahold of the Stone, they will destroy all humanity for their personal gain, but it is just that which fuels their interest and desire for it.
Equivalence...is it a naive theory? Or is it the absolute law of alchemy...and the whole world. To obtain anything, something of equal value must be lost. Is it just a theory that comforts the oppressed and makes children do their lessons? The law of equivalent exchange is a lie. To gain, something of equal value must be lost. People work because they believe it will pay. But equal effort does not always mean equal gain. The State Alchemy exam is an example. How many people attempt it, but how many actually succeed? Or what about the equal value of each persons life? If a person is killed, they will only die after a "full" life. Where is the worlds balanced in that? Does it mean the person was only born to die? What do you get in exchange for doing all you can to survive? People can say there is a balance, a logic that everything happens for a reason. But the truth is far less designed. For all you work, when you die, you die. Some spend their whole life trying to scratch their way to the top, but still die in poverty. Others are born wealthy without working at all. It's a cruel and random world, yet the chaos is all so beautiful.
Is equivalent exchange is a myth, a contrived order to give sense to a world that has none?
Nobody wants to admit this, but they've done bad things and bad things will keep on happening. Maybe thats because its all a chain, and a long time ago someone did the first bad thing, and that led someone else to do a bad thing, and so on. You know, its like that game where you whisper a sentence into someone's ear, and that person whispers it to someone else, and it all comes out wrong in the end. But then again, maybe bad things happen because its the only way we can keep remembering what good is supposed to look like.
Whether or not you believe in fate comes down to one thing: who you blame when something goes wrong. Do you think its your fault -- that if you'd tried better, or worked harder, or not tried at all, it wouldnt have happened? Or do you just chalk it up to circumstance? I know people who will hear about the people who died or were injured, and will say it was just chance. I know people who will say it was bad luck. And then theres my personal favorite: They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Then again, you could say the same thing about me, couldnt you?
The circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.
If we dont change the direction we are headed, we will end up where we are going.
You cant undo something thats happened; you cant take back a word or action thats been done or said out loud. You might think you couldve been talked out of it. You might try to figure out what you should have said or done instead. I guess not blaming yourself is a place to start...but thats a lie. I didnt get here by myself.
I've always sort of wondered...if everyone elses opinion is what matters, then do you ever really have one of your own?
When you begin a journey of revenge, start by digging two graves: one for your enemy, one for yourself.
